Vocal Design
Voice banks & V5 style presets utilized in this project:
Melody- Vy2 V5, custom at -25, reinforced w/ Thickener
Harmony- Vy2 V5, custom at -25, To the Stars, Movement [at ending]
Additional Vocals- Ken V5, custom at -25
Attack & release effects include occasional vocal fry, accent, growl, ‘opening’, both up and down pitchbends, and vibration.
The melody line is mirrored an octave lower for a huskier, more gravelly vocal.
I adore the way Vy2’s voice handles the more extreme pitchbends.
Reflections
Inspired by a Gackpoid cover which has since mysteriously disappeared from the internet.
I wanted to try making Vy2 sing in English. It doesn’t usually work out well, but- maybe it’s the source file, or perhaps Vy2’s V5 version is better at it than his V3, but I think he actually sounds rather good here.
